Here Are The Lyrics to Mindy's Song "Mon Soleil" in 'Emily in Paris' Season 2
Mindy Chen fans can rejoice, there is plenty more of her singing in Emily in Paris Season 2. Ashley Park, who plays the much-loved sidekick to Emily in Paris's Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), has brought her Broadway vocals and talents to the screen this season as Mindy finally begins to rediscover her passion for singing and performing.
In Season 2, Park as Mindy performs an original song, written specifically for the show called "Mon Soleil" and fans can't get enough of the track and Park's performance. Newsweek has everything you need to know about "Mon Soleil" from Emily in Paris Season 2, including the romantic lyrics.
Mindy Chen in Emily in Paris has not had the easiest of rides. In Season 1, audiences learned she had an impeccable singing voice but she was reluctant to let the world hear it after an embarrassing stint on China's version of Pop Idol. During her time on the show, Mindy fell off the stage whilst performing and earned the nickname "Zipper Princess" causing her to flee China and make a life for herself in Paris.
After Mindy met Emily in Paris in Season 1, she shared her singing talents with her best friend and in Season 2, she is not so afraid to hold back her voice. After an impromptu performance of BTS's "Dynamite", something Park described as being on her "wish list" in conversation with Vogue, Mindy was approached by struggling French bandmates Benoît (played by Kevin Dias) and Étienne (Jin Xuan Mao).
They asked Mindy to sing with them, and the rest is history.
After striking up a romance with guitarist and singer Benoît, he and Mindy wrote a beautiful song together about falling in love, titled "Mon Soleil" meaning, My Sun.
Newsweek has the romantic lyrics below:
You know that some things were just always meant to be
Don't ask the girls
Don't ask the other guys
Sometimes I wonder if you ever gonna see
I'm not like the other girls
You're not like the other guys
I tell you I want you but you don't listen to me
I guess all I can do is whisper in your ear
Ooh, your kisses taste so sweet
Can't resist it, stay with me
And promise not to wake me if it's all part of a dream
Cause baby, it feels like heaven, mon Cheri
Bonsoir, enchantée
Your hands-on my face
Embrasse-moi, mon soleil
Say you'd die for me, baby
Read my messages if you want I don't mind
I'm not like the other girls
You're not like the other guys
Hold me close 'cause it's too soon to say goodbye
You're some kind of beautiful
And you've got me in the sky
I tell you I want you but you don't listen to me I guess all I can do is whisper in your ear

Ooh, your kisses taste so sweet
Can't resist it, stay with me
And promise not to wake me if it's all part of a dream
Cause baby, it feels like heaven mon chéri
Bonsoir, enchantée
Your hands-on my face
Embrasse-moi mon soleil
Say you'd die for me, baby
So long, la vie en rose
Even with the mighty stars
The things we love don't always turn to gold
But if we never try we'll never know
What we could be
Bonsoir , enchantée
Your hands on my face
Embrasse-moi mon soleil
Say you'd die for me, baby
Speaking to Vogue, Park shared she collaborated with Grammy-winning songwriter and close friend of hers Freddy Wexler on "Mon Soleil".
She explained: "It was very important to us that the song really is a story piece. As the song is being sung, the characters are going through something. Mindy and her love interest start writing the song, and they don't finish it. It's a big storyline moment."
Park also described the track as having "Stevie Wonder vibes, but French, romantic and very pop. It's a very different sound than we've heard from Mindy."
Speaking to Broadway world, Wexler added: "Paris has music built into its DNA-the sounds of the city beg you to fall in love. With Darren's incredible storytelling and Ashley's brilliant performance, I hope that together we captured a bit of Parisian magic in this song."
You can listen to Park's performance of "Mon Soleil" via the official Emily in Paris Season 2 soundtrack which is available to stream via Spotify now.
