Mom-of-10 Shares Impressive Morning Routine Packing Lunches for Her Children

Not all super heroes wear capes, as this viral video of a mother-of-10 packing lunches for her kids early in the morning shows.

Alicia Dougherty, known on TikTok as doughtertydozen, has 10 children, six of whom are adopted.

Alongside her husband Josh Dougherty they all live in Pittsford, New York.

But having 10 children means that she has to get up early to make them 10 lunches, which is what she showcased on the app on July 23.

In the sped-up footage, that is set to Dolly Parton's 1980s hit song "9 to 5," we can see Dougherty in her kitchen prepping the meals.

Text overlaying the video, which can be viewed here, reveals: "5 AM for a mom of 10."

First, she appears to be sorting out vitamins into little pots for the kids, before laying out 20 slices of bread and then creating 10 sandwiches with either jelly or ham and mayonnaise.

She then begins packing 10 named lunches with snacks and sandwiches as well as cutting up apples and adding mini muffins for the children to enjoy.

Dougherty captioned her impressive morning ritual, writing: "Who can guess how long this really took? #9to5 #LargeFamilyLiving #10kids."

The footage has so far been viewed by 14.1 million people and received more than 1.6 million likes.

Many people took to the comments section to share their views on the mother's work.

One TikTok user, AbominationRoll, joked: "The video is not sped up she is actually just moving that fast."

Another person, Kayleerzz, asked: "Why is she getting dragged for not making the kids help??? 10 kids in a kitchen trying to make food is chaos."

Paige Lee typed: "I don't think I remember her asking for y'all's opinion on how many kids she has.

"Some of y'all forget that having 1-3 kids wasn't as common a long time ago.

"People having large families is common and there's nothing wrong with it so long as she can support them."

Da Kid stated: "I think y'all forget that adoption and fostering exist..."

Brian Wayne Johnson added: "I know this isn't a serious or sentimental post, but I spent every day wishing my mom made me lunch as a kid and she never did. You are a good mom."

Silve3rt345r commented: "I'm confused... do parents really do this in real life? I mean, no one did my lunches, I always took care of that."

To this Doherty responded: "I do every day."

According to The Adoption Network, adopting children is something many people in the U.S. have considered.

The site reads: "Although no more than 2% of Americans have actually adopted, more than 1/3 have considered it.

"One out of every 25 U.S. families with children have an adopted child. According to the U.S. Census, about half of these have both biological and adopted children."

Newsweek has contacted Dougherty for comment.
