Mom Having 10th Kid Slammed for Telling Pregnant Daughter She Stole Thunder

The internet has slammed a mother expecting her 10th child after she told her pregnant daughter that she stole attention away from her with her pregnancy.

In a post shared to Reddit's "Am I The A**hole" forum, user princesskittykat2203 said that her 37-year-old mother was expecting her 10th child.

The 21-year-old woman then revealed she and her husband, also 21, announced they were expecting their second child after being told she would not be able to get pregnant after giving birth to the couple's first baby, a daughter.

Unfortunately, when the happy couple shared their news, the woman claimed her mother became furious and demanded they keep the pregnancy a secret from others.

The 21-year-old wrote: "We haven't announced it to everyone, just really close family members like my parents and my in-laws. When we told my mother she threw a fit. She began accusing us of trying to take attention off her and her 'little miracle.'

"Telling us that we got pregnant just to spite her and that we shouldn't say anything about us being pregnant to anyone until her baby is born, which is a month before we're due.

"She also started going on about if anything happens to her baby it's our fault because we're causing stress for her and that this pregnancy is hard already and we made it worse."

Despite being asked by her parent's family not to announce the pregnancy, the woman asked "WIBTA" (would I be the a**hole) if she did so anyway.

Since being shared on Tuesday, the post has been upvoted on 11,900 occasions and attracted more than 2,000 comments.

The post also generated a serious discussion in the comment section, with the majority slamming the woman's mother over her response.

One Reddit user said: "NTA (not the a**hole). 10 children? I'm not trying to bash her or anything, but if you're not allowed to get pregnant while she is pregnant, like, when would you possibly be able to have a kid and tell people about it? Her 'logic' is completely skewed. Both of your pregnancies are important. One does not overshadow the other. Your mom is stressing herself out and she can get over it."

Another person wrote: "She likes the attention she receives while pregnant."

A third commenter posted: "Yeah, that's slimy. How she's selling it like it's a miracle or some s***. No, you were advised it was dangerous not impossible."

Others seemed amazed the woman was expecting her 10th child and commented on their own experience of being pregnant.

One Reddit user commented: "Yeah, I'm on month five of my first pregnancy and I'm so over it. I cannot imagine doing this 10 times. Like, why?"

Pregnancy can be one of the most stressful times that a person can go through, with many unsure what advice is best for them.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has shared the following advice during pregnancy:

  • Keep all of your healthcare appointments during and after pregnancy.
  • Get recommended vaccines during pregnancy.
  • Call your healthcare professional if you have any concerns about your pregnancy, if you get sick, or if you think you have COVID-19.
  • Do not delay getting emergency care because of worries about getting COVID-19.
  • Seek medical care immediately if you experience any urgent maternal warning signs and symptoms.
