Toddlers have a funny habit of saying whatever's on their mind in that moment, which can leave parents wondering where they heard it.

Mom Chrissy X. Warrington captured this exact moment when her son said something for which she was totally unprepared.

Warrington, from Slovakia, filmed herself gardening with her toddler watching on his bike from afar when he declares, "Mama, you are my person," stopping the 30-year-old dead in her tracks.

Son surprises mom by saying this

...

"I've often told him he's my favorite boy in the world, but I've never used the exact phrase, 'you're my person,'" she explained to Newsweek.

In the video, which has been viewed almost 85,000 times, Warrington is visibly caught off guard by her toddler's statement, as she stops what she's doing and goes over to give him a kiss.

"It was a very random thing for him to say while I was gardening, but we often express our love for each other while doing regular things, so I guess this was one of those moments," Warrington said.

Warrington expanded on her reaction in the caption which read: "I don't know where he got this from, but this boy just has my whole heart. And he knows it. Moments like these are so special—and managing to capture them on film allows me to relive them over and over again."

Comments from viewers on TikTok reflected the love Warrington has for her son.

One user wrote: "It's when the kids tell you the sweetest thing out of nowhere that makes a mom melt."

Others shared the times their children said something that caught them off guard.

One commented: "My son was really tired one week, so I said today we are going to the park you are not going to school. When we got to the park, he threw his arms around me. And said, 'I love you mama thank you.'"

Another shared: "I'm a single mom and my teenage daughter told me, 'Mom, you deserve every good thing that happens to you.' I cried right away."

Research underscores the critical importance of showing love to children for their overall development and well-being.

A 2005 study found that loving interactions from a caregiver to a child stimulate brain development, enhancing cognitive functions such as memory and attention, and help the child learn language through communication.

Speaking about the reaction to the video, Warrington told Newsweek: "I especially love when people say they feel like my videos with him [her toddler] heal their inner child. That's so beautiful and special, and I'm so glad my videos resonate with the people watching them."
