One mom was left red-faced after discovering what her 5-year-old son told his teacher about her job.
Aurora McCausland (@auroramccausland) shared on TikTok the mortifying moment she picked her son up from school; his teacher pulled her aside, saying that her son had wanted to tell the class what she did for work. "Mommy makes videos in her bedroom but only when I'm not at home," the 5-year-old said.

McCausland, a content creator on TikTok who shares home and cleaning videos, told Newsweek that she intentionally keeps her work life separate from her son's school environment.
"I just don't talk about my job or career at his school; it's never been a question that comes up, and it can also be hard to explain being a content creator, so I usually just avoid it unless it's brought up," McCausland said.
Luckily, she saw the funny side. The mom knows the teachers well, and another staff member guessed correctly that McCausland makes TikTok videos.
After hearing what her son told his teachers, McCausland said she knew that a conversation was needed with him, but she kept it casual.
"I've found that making a big deal out of these sorts of misunderstandings doesn't help the situation at all," McCausland said.
She simply asked her son what he thought she did for work, and he repeated his description.
"We talked about how mommy films in all of the rooms of the house," McCausland said. "He is often home when I film, but just not in any of my content, which is why he worded it the way he did."
McCausland also said there was nothing wrong with people who film videos in their bedrooms but added that she doesn't make money that way.
McCausland's clip has been viewed more than 1.6 million times, receiving thousands of likes and comments from other parents who felt the mom's pain.
"My son told everyone that we were homeless (because we don't own our home, we rent)," one user shared. McCausland replied in the comments, "I'M CRYING."
"My son said we lived in a crack house … There's a tiny chip in the wall from the door knob," another mom shared.
A third commenter wrote: "My daughter told her teacher I was in jail—I'm a prosecutor."
