For two years, a pair of miniature dachshunds had shared a flat with their owners, exploring life mostly indoors and on leashed walks. But when the couple recently moved into their first house with a garden, the dogs' jubilant reaction captured in a now-viral clip brought smiles to thousands of viewers online.
The video, shared on February 28 by their owner @abbeymees1, begins outside the front door of the couple's new home. The creator's partner is filmed cradling one of the dachshunds as they approach the entrance of the property. Inside, from the moment the dog is set down, it dashes through the hallway, tail wagging furiously, as it sniffs out every corner of its new space.
The clip then cuts to a scene in the backyard, where the two dogs, side by side, are shown racing around the lush grass, clearly overjoyed by the freedom. One scampers ahead, while the other zips behind, chasing, playing and pausing only to take in the sights and scents of their new territory.

"After living in a flat for 2 years with our dogs they finally have their own garden," the post was captioned.
Since it was posted, the moment has struck a chord with viewers on TikTok. It has received over 181,000 views and garnered more than 15,000 likes to date. The comments section is filled with dog lovers expressing everything from admiration to teary-eyed happiness.
