'Monster Hunter World' 6.01 Update Makes Ancient Leshen Quest Easier

An unexpected small update has come to Monster Hunter World for PS4 and Xbox One, and it nerfs the Ancient Leshen quest to make it easier for players to defeat the Monster.

While the update and improvements are going through, the Woodland Spirit Event, which pits hunters against the Ancient Leshen, will be extended for a longer period of time. Hunters will now be able to take down the beast until Wednesday, March 6.

Update 6.01 on PS4 (6.0.0.1 for Xbox One) requires 95MB of space while the Xbox One update needs 79MB.

Here's the full patch notes for Monster Hunter World update 6.01.

  • During the last phase of the Ancient Leshen fight in the quest Contract: Woodland Spirit, balance tweaks have been made to the fight, such as decreasing the Ancient Leshen's warp frequency and increasing the effectiveness of Igni Sign, slinger shots, etc., to make it easier to weaken the monster.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused the Leshen and Ancient Leshen to go into its Igni damage reaction instead of its weakened state damage reaction when both damage reactions would trigger at the same time due to being attacked by Igni.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused parts of a player's custom shoutouts to appear as asterisks (*) on other players' screens after the Ver. 6.00 update (Ver. 6.0.0.0 on Xbox One).

The last update for Monster Hunter World came in early February, which added the Geralt quests in the Monster Hunter/The Witcher crossover. Version 6.0 not only brought the new quests, but new armor and weapons for players to deck their hunters out in.

Monster Hunter World is available now for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
