MultiVersus: Rick Sanchez Release Date and Moveset

The latest character to join the MultiVersus roster has finally been confirmed. Rick Sanchez of Rick and Morty fame is the newest playable fighter, and he's joining his grandson Morty Smith and a gaggle of other Warner Bros.-centric characters in the free-to-play platform fighter.

To be specific, this is the C-137 version of Rick, the "central" Rick that fans will know from the Rick and Morty series. He's had his fair share of adventures across the universe, and he absolutely believes he's the smartest man to inhabit it, too.

This marks the second character from the show to join the game, and it's one of the titular characters at that. It remains to be seen if the rest of the Sanchez-Smith family will make an appearance as time marches on, especially if there are to be additional brawlers announced in the future.

When can you play as Rick Sanchez, and what does he bring to the table? We've got all the answers right here. Need a new MultiVersus main? You may have just found him.

MultiVersus: Rick Sanchez
Rick Sanchez is the latest addition to the roster of 'MultiVersus' characters. He's now available to play, with a selection of new moves and ways to annihilate the competition.

MultiVersus: Rick Sanchez Release Date and Moves

Rick Sanchez is available in-game now, so if you're ready to go make sure your opponents get rickety-rickety-wrecked, you can make use of his high-tech abilities, which include a variety of hands-off, ranged options:

  • Yeah, Fart Bomb!
  • Meeseek and Destroy
  • Basrick Portal Theory

Yeah, Fart Bomb! finds Rick throwing a fart bomb that hits enemies upwards. Meeseek and Destroy has Rick summon a Meeseeks that runs forward, uppercuts or uses a golf club to deal damage. Finally, Basrick Portal Theory lets Rick aim and summon a maximum of two portals during battle.

Playing as Rick is a lot like watching him play out his "Rick-diculous" antics on the animated series. He's all about working smarter, not harder, and flexing his gray matter instead of getting down and dirty and letting things come to fisticuffs. Still, you'll have plenty of opportunities to do that if you choose. Rick has some devastating potential that can knock your opponents off guard, so he could soon become a favorite player.

MultiVersus will likely continue adding fan-favorite characters as the game chugs forward and completes its first season. Like the universes Rick travels between in Rick and Morty, the possibilities seem absolutely endless. There are still plenty of properties within the overall Warner Bros. universe who could join, and we're interested in seeing on who eventually makes the grade.

MultiVersus is available to play now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC.
