'My Next Guest Needs No Introduction' Season 3: Who Are David Letterman's Guests?

On Wednesday, Netflix announced that David Letterman's talk show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction would be making its return for a third season on October 21.

In a press release obtained by Newsweek, the streaming service listed the upcoming guests for the series. All episodes will be released at once, as opposed to one at a time as they were for the previous two seasons.

The third season will surely be interesting. Even though there will be less episodes than prior seasons, the guests are still incredibly exciting. Letterman will talk to Grammy Award-winning singer Lizzo, actor and Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr., celebrated standup comedian Dave Chappelle, and reality TV star and media personality Kim Kardashian-West.

As in past seasons, the upcoming season of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction boasts conversations between the former Late Show host and the celebrities "combining humor, curiosity and in-depth conversations with extraordinary people," per the press release.

Past seasons have offered in depth conversations with a variety of interesting figures from comedy, music, television, movies, and politics. The previous season of the show featured interviews with Kardashian's husband rapper Kanye West, talk show host Ellen Degeneres, comedian Tiffany Haddish, philanthropist Melinda Gates, and racing driver Lewis Hamilton. A bonus episode was also released with Between Two Ferns and Hangover star Zach Galifianakis.

The show's first season boasted in-depth interviews with former President Barack Obama, activist Malala Yousafzai, actor George Clooney, rapper Jay Z, comedic actor and writer Tina Fey, and radio personality Howard Stern. The first season also had a bonus episode with Letterman interviewing comedian Jerry Seinfeld.

Each episode of the previous seasons had a lengthy interview with the subject in front of a live audience, discussing the interviewee's life and career. The interviews are accompanied by documentary style footage with Letterman exploring some deeper aspects of the subject's past or looking into something related to the person he's interviewing. For example, in his 2018 interview with Obama, Letterman visited Selma, Alabama and spoke to then-Representative John Lewis about the 1965 Civil Rights March that took place in the city. In his 2019 interview with West, he visited the rapper's home and tried on clothes with him while learning about his Yeezy brand.

This season's executive producers are Lydia Tenaglia, Chris Collins, Chris Cechin-De la Rosa, and Alexandra Lowry for Zero Point Zero Production, as well as Tom Keaney and Mary Barclay for Worldwide Pants.
