A standoff between Florida police and an armed suspect was bizarrely interrupted when a naked woman drove onto the scene in a golf cart.
As officers engaged in a standoff with the armed suspect at a home in Dunedin on Sunday, they were met with an unusual sight.
According to Fox 13 28-year-old Jessica Smith, from Boston, allegedly drove onto the crime scene in a golf cart—all while being completely naked.
An affidavit seen by the network reportedly said Smith had "a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person, and she was completely nude."
When Smith drove onto the scene, several Pinellas County sheriff's officers had confronted the suspect, who was later identified as 18-year-old Myles Abbott, in what went on to be a six-hour standoff.
According to Fox 13, Smith then allegedly ignored officers' demands that she leave and also refused to get out of the golf cart when police approached in order to arrest her.
The report seen by the network added Smith was then taken from the cart and handcuffed.
Fox 13 reported the affidavit said: "The defendant's actions and inability to follow directions put multiple deputies at risk for potentially getting shot at."
Smith is understood to not be connected to Abbot and was not named in an arrest update regarding the armed suspect and two others.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said in its release that officers arrived at 8:07 p.m. on Sunday after receiving reports of three men acting suspiciously in the neighborhood.
As they approached, Abbott fled and started to fire his gun at nearby citizens. He then continued to run and climbed onto the roof of a house and was later discovered to have fired his gun where the bullet struck his thigh.
Following a tense standoff, Abbott was charged with loitering and prowling, two counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, two counts of aggravated assault, felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, resisting an officer without violence, grand theft of a firearm, and he also had a warrant for vehicular homicide.
Two others were taken into custody and both were found to be in possession of stolen firearms.
A 16-year-old was charged with grand theft of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm by person under 18 and was transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center.
Ki'moni Anderson, 18, was charged with grand theft of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and was transported to Pinellas County Jail.
The investigation continues.
