Naomi Campbell's Mother Celebrates Baby: 'I've Waited a Long Time to be a Grandmother'

Naomi Campbell's mother Valerie Morris-Campbell has said she is "beyond thrilled" to be a grandmother.

Her supermodel daughter announced the arrival of her first child, a baby girl, in an Instagram statement on Tuesday, with a snap of her daughter's feet in her hands.

Morris-Campbell shared her joy in a separate Instagram post with the same image, captioned: "Congratulations to my daughter Naomi on the birth of her daughter, I'm beyond thrilled as I've waited a longtime to be grandmother. @naomi #proud #mother #grandmother #love #family."

Campbell, who is 50 years old, gushed over her "little blessing" as she shared the news online earlier on in the day.

She wrote: "A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love."

Campbell did not share any further details on her daughter's name or time of birth.

Newsweek has contacted representatives of Campbell for comment.
