'Naughty Sausage': Dachshund With Paws Covered in Paint Delights Millions

A video of a naughty sausage dog has been viewed over 26 million times on TikTok, slightly less than the entire population of Venezuela.

In the video posted by user Pizzathequeen, the sausage dog can be seen being carried by its owner as he says explains, "This absolute fool has trodden in the paint tray she's painted her colors [sic. nails] a nice blue color but she's also spilled it all over herself so now I've got to wash you off in the hose, naughty sausage, naughty sausage!"

One user commented, "One of mine shakes like that. she's so dramatic", which attracted 145,000 likes.

Another user commented, "Getting my own sausage soon, anything I should know?" which got 67,000 likes, to which another user replied, "This, even when you think you've met everyone possible, go do it again. They'll find an excuse to be antisocial if you let them."

The website Dachshunds United describes a Dachshund's typical personality as, "Sporty, clever, easy to train, active, playful, affectionate, cuddly, stubborn, funny and they can be very naughty (which is hilarious most of the time)! They have big personalities and love attention. When they are ignored they will seek attention by barking, whining or doing something really naughty like chewing up shoes or jumping on tables."

The American Kennel Association describes the history of the breed. "Dachshund" is a German word meaning "badger dog", and the breed's German history goes back some 600 years. And, as the breed name suggests, the Dachshund was developed to enthusiastically dig his way into a badger den and dispatch its occupant. The Dachshund's long, low body was custom-made for this dirty subterranean work.

For a dog of any size, a badger is a formidable adversary, weighing anywhere from 25 to 40 pounds, with razor-sharp teeth and claws. The cleverness, courage, perseverance, and strength that are hallmarks of today's Dachshund were first bred into his long-ago ancestors to best equip them for battling a deadly foe. The little dog's surprisingly loud, houndy bark is also a throwback to his working roots: It allowed the Dachshund's above-ground human hunting partner to mark his hound's underground location.

Many of the users commented on the similarities between the voice in the video, and the voice of British comedian Jack Whitehall, with one user asking, "Why does he sound like Jack Whitehall", and another commenting, "Umm jack whitehall?".

One user commented on a similar situation, "HAPPENED TO MY DOG TOO!!! Except it was waterproof paint and it didn't fully come off for I think some two months?"
