Despite the hype of waiting to see what the patch notes for this update might include, most of the features referenced here are a letdown. While it is nice to see some cosmetic updates to faces like Lamelo Ball and revised Lakers uniforms in the official rotation, there's a complete lack of gameplay-facing adjustments the community has been hoping to see. Getting the fade situation in order is obviously a big deal, but there isn't much to say regarding issues with charging or even the crazy amount of contact dunks seen in regular gameplay. There's still a lot of cheese out there, and patch 4 does almost nothing to make the situation better. That is, unless there's a huge number of unlisted tweaks that aren't published here.

Shifting to the positive aspects of update 1.06, being able to private matchmake during Pro-Am League Nights is a nice bonus for those who just want to play with friends. If you got a bit tired of staring at Zion's face on the loading screen, you'll also be happy to know the wait time to enter the City has been reduced. NBA 2k21 next-gen patch 4 irons out many of the essential wrinkles players have experienced over the past two months, but it's disappointing that some more specific refinements aren't present. Fans are still being heard, but most of the niche requested tweaks have yet to release.
