The 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades is born of the desert but is ready for swamp life. The model, a special edition SUV, debuted today at the Chicago Auto Show.

Capitalizing on the model's G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) heritage, the four-door 2022 Bronco Everglades comes complete with industry-first equipment and the popular Bronco Sasquatch Package.

"Bronco customers like to explore new places, but some want to go even further off the trail than others," said Jolanta Coffey, Bronco chief engineer, in a press release.

"Everglades is specially equipped to enable these customers to tackle even more challenging terrains and trails – and with the front bumper-mounted winch, they can help others out of trouble while they're at it."

The new Bronco Everglades pushes the design aesthetic with squared wheel arches (they are traditionally round), marine grade vinyl seats, rubberized washout flooring, rock rails, roof rack with crossbars, a molded-in-color hardtop and a unique Everglades topography graphic as standard. A safari bar, steel bash plates, Carbonized Gray grille with black "Bronco" lettering and a Zeon 10-S Warn winch also come on every Bronco Everglades.

The Sasquatch Package adds 17-inch Carbonized Gray-painted alloy wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires.

Ford has installed a class-exclusive snorkel with a quick-sway reversible air vent on the model. It hugs the A-pillar on the passenger side. Paired with raised axles, transfer case and vents, the model has a fording capability higher than other Broncos at 36.4 inches.

The automaker will sell the Bronco Everglades in five paint colors: Desert Sand (exclusive to the model), Eruption Green, Area 51, Shadow Black and Cactus Gray.

It's powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that delivers 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It only comes with four-wheel drive.

The SUV's cabin is rather status quo. It has New Urban Green accents on the grab handles, air register vents and seat stitching.

Every Bronco Everglades gets Ford's 12-inch SYNC 4 infotainment system, which is capable of over-the-air updaters.

The 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades joins the company's lineup this summer alongside the new Bronco Raptor. Reservations for the Bronco Everglades will opening March for existing Bronco customers. Pricing will start at $53,000 for the model plus a $1,495 delivery fee.
