Times Square

Known as the biggest American celebration of 2020, the party in Times Square is always iconic. The ball will drop at midnight, as always, but there are some other events for viewers to enjoy ahead of the countdown. Those who choose to watch the Times Square event on TV have a handful of broadcast options, all with different performers.

Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest

Seacrest and co-host Lucy Hale will ring in the New Year with performances by Post Malone, BTS, Sam Hunt and Alanis Morissette. The broadcast begins at 8 p.m. ET.

New Year's Eve with Steve Harvey on FOX

Also broadcast from Times Square, Harvey's event will include LL Cool J, The Chainsmokers, The Backstreet Boys and The Lumineers. The Village People will also make an appearance, leading the crowd in the largest-ever "YMCA" dance party with the goal of setting a new world record. It all starts at 8 p.m. ET.

New Year's Eve With Carson Daly and Julianne Hough on NBC

Airing at 10 p.m. ET, the NBC special will feature X Ambassadors, Brett Eldredge, Julianne Hough, Ne-Yo, Leslie Odom Jr., Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and The Struts, according to the event press release.

In addition to the Times Square countdown airing on the West Coast, the Billboard Hollywood Party will be hosted by musician Ciara, and feature a long list of celebrity guests including Dua Lipa, Paula Abdul, Ava Max, Megan Three Stallion, Anthony Ramos, SHAED, Green Day, Kelsea Ballerini, Salt-n-Pepa, Dan + Shay and Blanco Brown. The broadcast will air on ABC as an add-on to Dick Clark's Times Square broadcast.

New Orleans

Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve will also air content from New Orleans. Each year, performers are filmed at Jax Brewery during the last hours of 2019. Usher and Sheryl Crow are on the lineup this year, and the first performer will take the stage at 9 p.m. The show will be hosted by Billy Porter.

The Jonas Brothers will take the stage at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, which will be featured on Dick Clark's special. Doors open at 9 p.m. EST according to the venue's website.

CNN and NBC will both cover live performances from Nashville this New Years Eve. For CNN, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen will check in with Don Lemon—who has been relocated to Nashville this year, following 2017's ear piercing debacle—and will see Christina Aguilera, Lenny Kravitz, Shania Twain, 50 Cent and The Chainsmokers take the stage. NBC's Nashville coverage will be hosted by Keith Urban until he takes the stage at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park shortly before 11 p.m. CST.
