Subway Disruptions

The NYPD recommended that people take public transportation if they're going to the Times Square event, however, some trains will not be stopping at some of the closest stations. Beginning at noon on Monday until 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, N/R/W lines will bypass the 49th Street station. The northbound IRT No.1 train will also bypass the 50th Street station beginning at noon on Monday until 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

Along with restrictions on where traffic would be permitted for the massive event, the NYPD placed restrictions on what those attending the Times Sqaure event would be allowed to bring with them. Backpacks, large bags, umbrellas, alcohol and chairs were prohibited.
