New York City will experience moderate temperatures with clear skies and breezy conditions on Monday, according to forecasts. The day will start off mostly sunny with a high near 75 degrees Fahrenheit and a low around 66 F by nightfall.

Last year, New York City was found to have the worst air quality of anywhere in the world, with the inhalation of smoke and smog contributing to shorter lifespans and health complications for residents. Air quality has continued to decline in several states, to the point where pet owners were advised to reduce exposure to toxic air earlier this year, after wildfires added more smog to the atmosphere.
Other factors contributing to the declining air quality around the country include wildfires breaking out in the heat of the summer, particularly in the Southwest, which drastically increase carbon levels and particulate matter in the area. These fires also reduce the forest area that scrubs CO2 out of the atmosphere.
