New York, March 4 – Newsweek, the modern global digital news organization, reported today that, according to Comscore, total US traffic for its media platforms, readership and on-line, has increased by a massive 45 percent in the latest month for which data are available, January 2025, versus January 2024.
"This is an impressive result, driven by our commitment to comprehensive media content that's, importantly, fair and balanced," said Dev Pragad, Newsweek CEO and Owner. "And it's even more impressive when you consider that total US market growth, as reported by Comscore, was only .5 percent."
Just a few weeks ago, Newsweek was ranked no. 2 in overall growth in the U.S. by Similarweb's annual Digital 100 Report. This stands in stark contrast to the media property's standing only a few years ago.
According to Pragad, Newsweek's growth in readership can be attributed, in large part, to a commitment to data-driven editorial, which determines coverage on the basis of audience preference.
In recent years, Newsweek has also made a concerted commitment to journalism that is factual and fair. "We believe good-faith debate is in the public interest, and we welcome diverse views and voices to the search for common ground," noted Dayan Candappa, Chief Content Officer.
To that end, Newsweek has launched a series of unique offerings under the banner of "Digital First, including the podcast "The Debate", various opinion sections and "Newsweek Next," which focuses on the magazine's rich history of curation and analytical reporting on disruptive technology.
