The NFL has made no mystery of its desire to grow outside American borders, and for the first time an international-based game tops the list of the league's most in-demand tickets for the upcoming season.

According to a report from online ticket exchange StubHub, the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Jacksonville Jaguars is the most in-demand game heading into the season—based on the amount of ticket sales per each game sold via StubHub.

The game, which will take place at Wembley Stadium in London on October 28, is one of three regular-season matches that will be staged in the British capital within three weeks.

On October 14, the Oakland Raiders face the Seattle Seahawks at Wembley Stadium—the game was originally meant to be hosted at Tottenham Hotspur's new ground but the stadium will not be ready on time—and the iconic venue will host Tennessee Titans vs Los Angeles Chargers a week later.

Tickets for the clash between the Eagles and the Jaguars are exchanging hands for an average of $296, making it the second-cheapest—after New York Giants' trip to Dallas on September 16—among the 10 most in-demand games.

"Eagles fans have always been passionate but their Super Bowl win has truly ignited the fan base to unprecedented levels," said StubHub's general manager of NFL, NBA and NHL Scott Jablonski. "We're seeing Eagles fans willing to travel long distances to watch their team play, including internationally for their game in London."

Demand for the NFL London series has grown by a whopping 333 percent in five years. It's up 40 percent compared to 2017, partly as the British capital will only host three games this season, as opposed to four 12 months ago and partly because Wembley will welcome the defending Super Bowl champions.

Some 37 percent of the tickets sold for their game against the Jaguars have been sold in Pennsylvania.

The figure is the highest amount of sales the ticketing site has registered for a London-based game and should see legions of Eagles fans travelling over from Philadelphia to support Carson Wentz and Nick Foles.

Cowboys still America's Team

Unsurprisingly, the Eagles' first game of the season is also among the 10 most in-demand games, ranking third. As is tradition, the reigning Super Bowl champions will open the new NFL campaign on the first Thursday of the season and tickets for Philadelphia's matchup against the Falcons are exchanging hands for an average of $428.

The figure makes it the second-most expensive ticket among the top 10 games, behind only Green Bay's trip to New England on November 4, which will set you back an average of $700. Unsurprisingly, the opening week fixtures are particularly in-demand, with the Cowboys trip to North Carolina and Green Bay's home game against the Bears also featuring in the top 10, along with the Packers' game in Los Angeles against the Rams on October 28 and the matchup between the 49ers and the Raiders three days later.

Meanwhile, the report also found the Dallas Cowboys were the most in-demand team for the fifth consecutive year, followed by the Packers and the Eagles, who have climbed one and six spots respectively from last year.

The Cowboys might not have made it to the Super Bowl in over two decades but they are still the biggest draw on the road, with the ticketing website reporting a 300 percent increase in sales on average when Dallas are the visiting team.
