Nintendo Switch 8.0 Update Adds Save File Transfers and Game Sorting

nintendo switch 8

Nintendo dropped a new firmware update for the Switch and it brings some welcome new features for players, including save file transfers and game sorting.

Version 8.0 can be downloaded today through the system settings while t connected to the internet. The first part of the update adds new icons from Splatoon 2 and Yoshi's Crafted World for players to use.

However, a new zoom feature can be accessed by pressing the home button twice. Players can zoom in and out while navigating the screen. This is great for players who have a hard time reading small text. And yes, this can be done in-game, but we wouldn't recommend doing it during anything as fast-paced as Smash Ultimate.

If you scroll to the "All Software" section on the Switch, you'll be able to sort your games by amount of time played, title, last played, and publisher. This is great for Switch owners who have a ton of games saved on their console.

But the biggest new feature is the save transfer. This is especially useful for those who have multiple Nintendo Switches in their home or are planning to get the rumored new Switch. Be aware that the save file on the source console will be erased when transferred.

Here's the entire patch notes for the Nintendo Switch version 8.0 update:
