These extensive patch notes suggest No Man's Sky has become the game that was initially promised at launch in the summer of 2016. Now that the experience is playable on all three major platforms, we're seeing a build that truly puts its best foot forward. As far as multiplayer is concerned, squads of up to four players can team up to explore the universe together with no restriction in distance. Along the way, they'll also encounter other players who just so happen to be exploring the same location. With no limits to how or where bases are made, players can also set up shop and conduct missions anywhere they please.

This new way to play also ties into a brand-new cosmetic shop. Now that No Man's Sky defaults to a third-person perspective, it's possible to customize the race, suit and base-building items of your avatar. Skins can be purchased with in-game currency and by completing challenges that will be refreshed in weekly updates. If you've been hesitant to check out No Man's Sky, its 1.5 update is the perfect time to see what the hype is all about.

No Man's Sky is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Update 1.5 is deploying now across all platforms.
