'Octopath Traveler' Secret Jobs: How to Get Advanced Classes
There are four secret jobs in "Octopath Traveler" characters can learn. Here's how to gain access to the Warmaster, Runelord, Starseer and Sorcerer classes.
A week prior to Octopath Traveler 's release, Square Enix revealed four secret jobs the characters can learn. These advanced classes are some of the most powerful in the game and are difficult to access.
Players will want level up their main character to at least Level 50 before attempting to gain the secret jobs, because the battles to earn them are so intense. Here is a primer of what each advanced job can do and each of their locations in Octopath Traveler.
Octopath Traveller Secret Jobs: What Do Advanced Jobs Do?
The four secret jobs in Octopath Traveler are Runelord, Starseer, Warmaster and Sorcerer. Each of these classes is very powerful and offers various ways to play.
- Starseers focus more on buffing and supporting the party by healing HP and increasing BP skills' damage output.
- Sorcerers are an essentially stronger version of Scholars and have access to every single element, including wind, light and dark magic. Every spell hits every enemy on the field and strikes three times. Their attacks do cost a lot of SP, so keep that in mind.
- Runelords focus on physical sword attack but can enhance their attacks with elemental magic.
- Warmasters focus on physical attacks and can use every weapon type in the game, including staves.
How To Unlock Secret Jobs
To acquire these secret jobs in Octopath Traveler, players must traverse through a dungeon and battle a boss. The game recommends that a character is at Level 50 before attempting; you may want to attempt it at a slightly higher or lower level, depending on your playstyle and comfort with the combat system. Once you find the dungeon where the shrine is located, make your way through it until the artifact is found. Examine it, and a message from the corresponding God or Goddess will appear on the screen before you enter a battle with it.
