Odell Beckham Jr. Future: Browns' WR Jarvis Landry Urges Star to Swap Giants for Cleveland

Jarvis Landry is eager to be reunited with Odell Beckham Jr. and has urged his former teammate to join him at the Cleveland Browns.

Landry and Beckham Jr. played together at Louisiana State University, before being selected in the 2014 draft—where the latter was the number 12 overall pick, while the former was the number two pick in the second round.

"Come to the Browns [and] reunite me with my brother @OBJ_3 #13 #80," was Landry's not-so-subtle "come and join me" plea to Beckham Jr.

For the avoidance of any doubt, the Browns' wide receiver then followed his initial tweet with an even more explicit "We want Beckham."

The latter's future has been the subject of speculation over the last two days, after the New York Giants were officially described as "open to fielding offers" for their star wide receiver.

According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the Giants have even already set Beckham Jr.'s price.

"The price in a prospective Beckham trade is starting at a first-round pick plus," he wrote.

"The 'plus' is the negotiable part, but the meaning is that it likely won't require two first-round picks to get it done."

While prizing the Giants' wide receiver away from the MetLife Stadium will be neither easy nor cheap, Cleveland has plenty of ammunition to open negotiations with.

After securing a flurry of signings, John Dorsey, the Browns new general manager, has managed to hang onto all of Cleveland's picks in the first two rounds of the draft.

As a result, the Browns are holding picks number 1, 4, 33, 35, 64, 114, 150, 175, and 205 in next month's draft which, given the conditions set by the Giants, could sound very appealing to the New York-based franchise.

However, it remains to be seen whether the four-time Super Bowl winners are really determined to get rid of Beckham Jr.

While the 25-year-old's antics are well documented—on Monday, as reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, he claimed that he would not play this season unless a contract extension is agreed—his talent remains unquestionable.

The Louisiana native posted at least 90 receptions, 10 touchdowns and 1,300 receiving yards in his first three seasons with the Giants, before an ankle injury brought his 2017 campaign to a premature end.

Furthermore, the Giants could keep Beckham Jr. under contract this season on his fifth year option and then potentially franchise-tag him for the next two seasons.

New York doesn't have to rush into a decision and, as co-owner John Mara said Sunday, while they are open to offers, they are not actively looking to trade Beckham Jr.
