Ohio High School Football Star Accused of Raping Girl As She Slept

An 18-year-old from Ohio, who was a star footballer for the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, has been accused of raping a girl in her bedroom.

Crosley MacEachen, who is due to play football at the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is charged with rape, gross sexual imposition and sexual battery after allegedly assaulting a girl while she slept, according to court documents seen by the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The documents filed at Hamilton County Common Pleas Court allege MacEachen entered a bedroom of a Symmes Township home, where the teenage girl was sleeping in the early hours of December 6, 2020, removed her clothing and raped her.

The documents add the alleged victim said she woke up at around 5 a.m. with him "on top of her," having sexual intercourse with her, reported the Cincinnati Enquirer on Monday.

"She pushed him off of her and realized she was naked, despite wearing clothes when she went to sleep," the documents say.

One month prior to that alleged incident, MacEachen allegedly grabbed the girl's buttocks at a different property.

The girl said she then sat down on a bed and when she tried to get up and move away from MacEachen, he allegedly pushed her back down.

The girl then fled the Sycamore Township home and waited in her car outside until the suspect left.

After being charged, MacEachen was released from custody after a family member posted a $100,000 bond.

MacEachen's attorney, Scott Croswell, told the Enquirer: "We intend to aggressively defend the case."

Speaking to WLWT, Croswell added: "They are unproven allegations and we intend to aggressively defend them."

MacEachen is set to appear in court for a pretrial hearing on Wednesday, July 21.

In a statement, the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy told WLWT: "CHCA has learned of an investigation which has resulted in charges filed against a former student. The alleged incident did not occur on school property nor during a school-sponsored event.

"CHCA is saddened for the individuals and families affected by this alleged incident, and our prayers remain with them."

According to the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy's website, MacEachen averaged 17 yards per catch while playing for the football team.

"Crosley is one of the most dynamic football players that I've had the pleasure to coach," CHCA Head Football Coach KC Woods said in a statement.

"Every time he touched the ball, everyone's eyes got a little bigger. He is also one of the smartest football minds that I have coached. He understands the game as well as most coaches do. Crosley will have a remarkable career for NAIA [National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics] powerhouse St. Francis."

Croswell has been contacted for further comment.
