Youngstown, Ohio Utopia Nightclub Shooting Leaves One Dead, Multiple Others Injured
Police have confirmed at least one person has been shot dead and others were injured during a shooting at an Ohio nightclub, according to local media.
Officers were called to the Utopia nightclub, in Youngstown, at about 1.30 a.m. this morning following reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived they told WFMJ-TV that between 300 to 500 people were waiting outside the nightclub, located on East Midlothian Boulevard.
They told the outlet one man had been killed and that another man and a woman had been taken to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.
It is unclear where they were shot and whether their injuries are critical.
Police did not confirm what happened in the lead-up to the deadly shooting and did not comment on the motivation behind it.
They also did not comment on whether any arrests had been made.
Photos taken outside the nightclub showed a number of police vehicles stationed nearby and a cordon taped off the area immediately outside the venue.
No officers opened fire following the shooting.
Newsweek has approached the Youngstown Police Department for comment.
