A bittersweet video of a lamb finding an unexpected companion after he lost his mother left viewers in tears.
A lamb named Simon was born a week prematurely. However, because of complications, his mother and brother died shortly after his birth. TikTok user @harryemmel explained in a February 16 video that, despite several attempts, no other mother would adopt this Greyface Dartmoor baby lamb and help raise him. No other lamb wanted to play with him either.
But, instead of giving up, the owner knew just the right animal for the job: the family's "gently" dog, Digby. The Labrador took Simon under his wings. In the clip, Digby sniffed Simon and inspected the orphan, but within seconds he knew to accept him as part of the family.

Digby started playing with Simon, running around him and wagging his tail. Simon soon enough felt comfortable enough and joined Digby in the fun. His little legs tried hard to keep up with Digby as the two chased each other through the yard. Simon started to embrace his inner dog.
Viewers immediately felt relief knowing an animal on the farm is now looking over Simon. The owner stated in a separate video that Digby is the "boss of the farm" who works hard to keep all the animals in check and protects the babies, such as Simon.
However, the owner shared in the comment section that Simon's health is still being monitored.
The comment read: "...we are doing the best we can. He's not in the clear yet as he's still pretty vulnerable but fingers crossed."
Viewer Reactions
The TikTok video amassed more than 2.5 million views, 374,400 likes and 1,383 comments as of Thursday.
"Digby had little lamb," commented a viewer, while a second wrote: "He has made one of the best friends - he will be loved and protected forever."
Someone asked: "Awww, does that mean he's a lambrador now?"
Another added: "Man now I'm crying. I'm so glad this precious baby has you guys."
Several viewers became worried that the owner would get rid of Simon, but she assured people he was there to stay. The farm is not a working farm and instead, all the animals are pets, including Simon.
