Is Outlook Down? Passwords Won't Work, Users Can't Sign In

Outlook mail users found Monday morning that they couldn’t log into their accounts. When users entered their usernames and passwords they got a message that said, “Something went wrong,” accompanied by a sad face emoticon.

Users were reporting the issue to the website Down Detector and the reports said most of the issues were coming from log-in, the website and with receiving messages. The outage map on the site showed that the issues were spread across Europe and the United States.

Users were tweeting the issues they were having with the servers as well. One said they were getting logged out of their email and then couldn’t access the account again on their phone or computer.

The issue was particularly bad for a Monday morning when people were trying to start the work week off.

Some users suggested there was something wrong with the Outlook servers. Users were tweeting at the Outlook and Microsoft Support Twitter accounts about the possible issues. Neither account tweeted about a possible outage though and some users were stuck without answers.

It was unclear what exactly was causing the issues with Outlook Monday or when the problems might be resolved.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
