Outside Lands 2019 Details: Daily Lineup, Map, What to Wear, Bag Policy

The Outside Lands music festival in California will feature performances from a number of big names, including Paul Simon, Childish Gambino and blink 182.

The festival, which is scheduled to take place from Friday until Sunday in San Francisco, comes in the wake of several shootings and San Francisco Mayor London Breed assured people they would be safe. Additional fencing, police officers and private security will be at the music festival.

Outside Lands also implemented a bag policy in an effort to keep festival-goers safe. People were recommended to attend bag-free, but acknowledged that wasn't always a possibility. Backpacks and bags with multiple pockets that were larger than 6" x 8" x 3" were prohibited. Bags that were allowed on festival grounds listed as:

Bags and backpacks made of clear plastic, vinyl or PVC.
Small bags, fanny packs, and purses, smaller than 6" x 8" x 3"
Drawstring bags with only one opening, up to 13" x 16"
Empty hydration packs with a bladder capacity under 2.5L, with no more than two additional pockets

What to Wear to Outside Lands

Unlike Coachella in Southern California, where crop tops and bralettes are a fashion staple, Outside Lands takes place in northern California and the climate is very different. Friday has a high of 70 degrees, Saturday has a high of 68 degrees and Sunday has a high of 71. It can also get colder as the sun goes down, so layers are a good way to go.

People will often sport a t-shirt during the day and then throw on a poncho, jacket or blanket when the temperature dips.

The festival also features food vendors, drink vendors and artists so music lovers are able to make it an all-day event. Times and lineups vary based on the day and the festival has multiple different areas for concert-goers to enjoy music.
