'Overwatch' Lunar New Year 2019 Event Skins: Celebrate Year of the Pig

Overwatch is celebrating the 2019 Lunar New Year with its Year of the Pig event The third annual event is full of firecrackers, limited-time modes and a bunch of awesome-looking skins. Starting on January 24 and ending on February 18, the event gives players a chance to unlock skins from 2018's Year of the Dog and 2017's Year of the Rooster. Blizzard has announced six new skins for Zenyatta, Tracer, Brigette, Orisa, Torbjorn and Reinhardt.

Many of these skins are based upon famous figures in Chinese history, like the politician Zhuge Liang or the general Guan Yu. Most of these skins will be Legendary, with brand-new VFX and colors to bring these them to life. Blizzard has to keep fans engaged with their events or they won't stick around in Overwatch for long.

The Overwatch Twitter account has already teased three of the skins, while the Korean Overwatch YouTube channel revealed the other three. There's "Hong Gildong" Tracer, who one reddit user described as "an illegitimate son of a nobleman who steals from the rich to help the poor." There's also Lion Dance Orisa, which gives the quadruped robot a scary smile. Then there's Brigette as a general, though it's unclear which one she is supposed to represent from the video.
