The first Overwatch season began in June of 2016, giving players a reason to grind Blizzard's hero shooter. Along the way, a change was added to seasons to make each one stand out from the crowd, and now there's a specific selection of maps that players must overcome for competitive glory. Five maps from Season 19 (Gibraltar, Route 66, Hollywood, Nepal and Lijiang Tower) have all been removed from the pool, with some players celebrating no longer having to save these slow-moving vehicles or capture those checkpoints.

Here are the maps for Season 20 of Overwatch. keep in mind that they will be randomly chosen for your games.

Overwatch Season 20 Map Pool

  • Temple of Anubis,
  • Hanamura
  • Volskaya Industries
  • Havana
  • King's Row
  • Eichenwalde
  • Busan
  • Dorado
  • Rialto
  • Numbani
  • Illios
  • Oasis

The Season 20 pool of maps is fairly robust without getting mind-numbingly repetitive. With the addition of maps like Rialto and Illios, players will be able to contest checkpoints in close-quarters firefights. Temple of Anubis and Volskaya are classics, which means players should have hours of training on them already.

The exclusion of the moon map Horizon Lunar Colony still seems like a shame since it has unique mechanics but its lack of a spot is understandable. There's nothing more frustrating than a trolling Widowmaker who just wants to bounce around in zero gravity instead of actually contesting any of the points.

If you do end up getting a team that may not want to coordinate, stay on the point or aim, remember to keep cool. Overwatch can be a frustrating experience when a team is uncoordinated, and microphone communications can quickly devolve into screaming and anger. Making sure not to tilt and to encourage your teammates (even in the most dire of times) can potentially lead you to a win. Nothing makes an ally more reluctant than a screaming Winston who calls everyone noob. Save that mentality for solos in Fortnite.

Overwatch is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
