Owners Catching Corgi Napping in Car Delights Internet: 'You Look Dead'

A corgi named Mia has melted hearts online, after a video of her sleeping in her owner's car, looking "dead" went viral on social media.

The clip, shared on TikTok on Wednesday by the dog's owner, under the username Spencergvideos, shows the dog sleeping peacefully in her owner's car, under the sun shining bright on the car.

As she sleeps, her owner can be heard talking while approaching the car, saying: "Just walking back from buying a sub, and this is what I see through my car window. Look how my dog is sleeping!" And then talking to her, he said: "Mia, you look dead!"

Corgis are probably most famous for being the late Queen Elizabeth's favorite dogs, in fact, she had over 30 of them, during her lifetime. Most recently she only owned two corgis, called Muick and Sandy, who after her death were passed onto her son, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson who still live together.

As a breed, corgis are very affectionate with family but also quite open to strangers. They're fairly easy to train and very clever dogs. Their lifespan averages from 12 to 13 years, and they don't usually get any bigger than 30 pounds.

The American Kennel Club (AKC), describes them as big dogs in a small package. They're short but have got powerful legs, muscular thighs and a deep chest. Although they're built long and low, they are surprisingly quick and agile.

The word corgi actually means "dwarf dog." According to AKC, it combines the two Welsh words cor meaning "dwarf," and gi meaning "dog."

There are two different kinds of corgis, both believed to be of Welsh origins: the Pembroke Welsh corgi, and the Cardigan Welsh corgi. The Cardigan has a longer tail, while the Pembroke's is docked close to the body. The Pembroke has a shorter body, and the ears are pointed, while the Cardigans' ears are more rounded at the tips.

The clip has so far been viewed over 585,900 times and liked 129,500 times, and the internet just loves the way she seeks attention. One user, Cindy, commented: "She's adorable omg it must have been a good nap."

Another user, Jaelyn said: "She's like 'yeah I was dead asleep until you woke me up." And weratedogs wrote: "Truly resting in peace."

Demon-Cosplay commented: "she's a great actress." And Blue Butterfly Wings joked: "Mia said you were taking too long."

Another user, Birdofapex said: "Apologize for waking her up [right now]. And Julie Lalonde added: "lol. That's so cute! She wanted you to be 'scared' for a second." Bob said: "She was in that deep sleep." JaKe___ joked: "She setting you up bro."
