Distraught and heartbroken, a family watched footage of their beloved husky leaving the property for his last walk of life.
In a June 16 TikTok video, user @kligkl6 explained to viewers what happened since the home security camera captured their husky slowly walking down the driveway in the middle of the night. By 1 a.m., the owner was out searching for Blue.
The rest of the family joined the search party in the morning. They went on foot and in cars looking for Blue. They made posts on different social media pages, hoping someone would lead them to their beloved dog.

Blue had diabetes and was on insulin. Up to 1 percent of dogs may develop diabetes in their lifetime, according to the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. But even with treatment, dogs can still pass away from diabetes. However, what happened that fateful night will forever remain a mystery.

...
A neighbor came to their home following their search to, unfortunately, break the bad news. He found Blue on his farm. Blue laid down next to the cows, closed his eyes and crossed the rainbow bridge.
"We don't know what caused his death," the owner explained in a more recent TikTok clip. "Some say the cows did it, but Blue loved cows."
A few weeks earlier, Blue's veterinarian told the family that they should start thinking about euthanasia, but like many families, they couldn't do it. Making the decision to put down your dog is personal and very difficult. Owners should monitor their dog's quality of life when facing this decision.
A dog with diabetes might be receiving treatment, but can still present signs they are nearing the end of the road. This includes weakness, seizures, chronic vomiting, decreased appetite, weight loss, recurring infections or excessive water drinking.
Viewer Reactions
The heartbreaking TikTok clip hit viral status with over 4.3 million views, 249,100 likes and 6,746 comments as of Tuesday.
"When your pet is sick & they know their time is about to come, they will hide in a place and pass peacefully cause they don't want their owner(s) to see them pass on," commented a viewer.
Another added: "I will never understand how dogs are our biggest companion yet they choose to pass alone. I'm so sorry for your loss."
A third person wrote: "This made me cry so bad, ppl don't really understand when you lose a pet, they're like family!"
