Pacino's Way

In "Scarface," Al Pacino and director Brian De Palma created a thoroughly rotten Latino gangster. Now they're reunited in "Carlito's Way," about a formerly rotten Latino gangster trying to go straight. Based on the gritty novels of New York Judge Edwin Torres, Carlito "is very romantic, like an old Bogart movie," says De Palma. "He just wants to make enough money to open a rental-car business in the Bahamas. Of course, nobody believes him."
