Watch 'Unrecognizable' Lily James and Sebastian Stan in Hulu's New 'Pam & Tommy' Trailer

The first trailer for the Hulu series Pam & Tommy has dropped online and viewers are having a hard time believing that it's really Lily James playing Pamela Anderson.

The trailer also unveils Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee and reveals the characters co-stars Seth Rogen, Taylor Schilling and Nick Offerman will be playing. Fans also now know when the mini-series will begin on Hulu.

Pam & Tommy's first-look trailer is available to watch online now, and here's everything you need to know about the series ahead of its launch in 2022.

Lily James' Transformation Into Pamela Anderson

British actress James' casting as '90s American icon Pamela Anderson seemed off at first, until the first-look images were released in May 2021.

Filming began in April, and her transformation into Anderson took hours every day according to Barry Lee Moe, the hair department head on Pam & Tommy. He told Variety that James' session in the hair and makeup chair took "anywhere from three to five hours of hair and makeup every morning before we even started filming."

Anderson and Lee aren't involved in production of the series.

Reactions to the Pam & Tommy Trailer

While Rogen, Offerman, Schilling and Stan all appear in the trailer, it's James' appearance that's causing a stir on the internet.

Most who have seen the trailer are full of praise for her transformation into the star.

Twitter user @NINETIESRNB paid credit where credit is due to the behind the scenes team. @KuyaDenzel95 agreed that the hair and makeup department put in award-worthy work.

@theyluvdestinyr admits she's eating her words after seeing the new images and James' performance in the trailer.

The trailer even won over skeptics, as @joliesrobbie wrote: "I told myself I wasn't gonna watch Pam & Tommy but ngl the trailer looks really good lily james is unrecognizable."

Pam & Tommy Plot

It was already known, but the trailer makes it clear that Pam & Tommy will follow the story of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's marriage in their '90s heyday. Lee was still part of Mötley Crüe and Anderson is seen featured on Baywatch, but we'll also see the events that led to the release of their private sex tape.

In the first look at the Hulu series, we see how the newlyweds' house was robbed, how the sex tape was discovered, how it was distributed, and the moment that Pamela and Tommy saw their intimate video posted on the internet.
