A joyful reunion between a millennial woman and her parents has delighted viewers online.

Ruthie Freid (@ruthiepolinsky) posted the clip on TikTok meeting her parents in a Washington D.C. airport ahead of her best friend's wedding. Freid, flying in from Chicago, met her parents who were arriving from St. Louis.

"We coordinated our flights so that we would arrive at similar times," she told Newsweek.

Parents greeting millennial woman

...

Capturing their reactions as they spot her walking towards them, Debbie and Mike Polinsky's faces light up and her dad beams as he says, "Hi, darling."

"This is genuinely how they greet me every time we see each other," the 32-year-old told Newsweek. "Whether it's been three weeks or three months, they are always this happy to see me."

Freid, from Chicago, told Newsweek that her family remains close, despite living in different states.

"My parents are my best friends," she said. "They raised my two younger sisters and me in a home full of unconditional support, love and joy. We all talk every day."

The internet is obsessing over Freid's clip, which has amassed five million views. Thousands of users commented how lucky the millennial was to be so loved by her parents.

"Your mom's face lit up like you said goo goo gaga for the first time," one user wrote.

"You're their baby. Doesn't matter how old you are," another user added.

"36 and same. We're so lucky," a third user wrote.

"From work to social gatherings, and even walking down the street, dozens of people have said to my parents, 'We saw you on TikTok!'," Freid told Newsweek. "It's truly hilarious for my dad, who is not on any social media, but has been loving the support."

She and her sisters are grateful to share a glimpse of their everyday love with the world. "This is such an accurate representation of how they parent us, and we love spreading a positive video that has made people smile all over the world," she said.

Freid has no doubt that no matter old how she gets, her parents will always greet her this way.

"Their daughters are what fuel them daily," she told Newsweek. "They live their lives to support and care for us, no matter how old we are. We bring them so much fulfillment and happiness."
