Tributes to the late TV magician Paul Daniels have been pouring in from across the entertainment industry.

Daniels's publicist confirmed the showman died in the early hours of Thursday morning after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.

The magician had been seeking treatment for his illness at the Royal Berkshire Hospital but opted to go home on Sunday to spend his final days with his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife and stage assistant Debbie McGee and his three sons Martin, Paul and Gary.

Documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux said Daniels was a "gifted magician" in a touching tribute on Twitter:

RIP Paul Daniels, a thoughtful skeptic, enemy of hucksterism and paranormal flimflam, and gifted magician. My condolences to his family.
