Jose Mourinho: This Is What I Really Think Of Manchester United Signing Paul Pogba

Jose Mourinho described Paul Pogba as "one of the best players in the world" as the former Juventus star sealed a world record switch to Manchester United.

Pogba becomes Mourinho's fourth signing of the summer, for a fee believed to be £89 million ($115.5 million), four years after he left the club for the first time.

The United manager revealed on Sunday that he was only told about Pogba's impending transfer moments before the FA Community Shield at Wembley, which United won 2-1 against Leicester City.

But he was effusive in his praise for a player expected to become the fulcrum of his new-look United side.

"Paul is one of the best players in the world and will be a key part of the United team I want to build here for the future," Mourinho told United's official website.

"He is quick, strong, scores goals and reads the game better than many players much older than he is. At 23, he has the chance to make that position his own here over many years. He is young and will continue to improve; he has the chance to be at the heart of this club for the next decade and beyond."

Mourinho is now expected to focus on moving players out of Old Trafford. Those may include Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has been frozen out since the 53-year-old took charge, and Juan Mata, who was strangely substituted within minutes of coming on as a substitute himself during the Community Shield victory.
