Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has given a major indication as to how he plans to use new world record signing Paul Pogba.

Speaking to BT Sport before the launch of the new English Premier League season, Mourinho indicated that Michael Carrick, the veteran midfielder, would have a place in his midfield next to Pogba.

"We have Michael Carrick, 34 or 35-year-old-man. Stable, intelligent, to play as one man in front of the defenders, give us all the stability, he knows everything. Tactically very intelligent.

"We have people like Schneiderlin, Herrera, also play as that, they have experience of the Premier League but after that we have number tens. Mata we have, we have possibly Rooney, we have Mkhitaryan, we have number tens."

Those words indicate Mourinho is planning to allow Pogba to drive forward from midfield into the forward positions he was so dangerous in for Juventus, his previous club.

And that can only be exciting news for United fans as their club prepares to face Bournemouth in its opening game of the Premier League season on Sunday.
