Paul Pogba Transfer Rumors: Manchester United Taunted By Agent Mino Raiola

Manchester United's turbulent start of the season took another turn on Tuesday, as Paul Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, launched a scathing attack on club legend Paul Scholes.

The latter had criticized Pogba for being "so poor" during United's dismal 3-2 defeat at Brighton on Sunday, but Raiola jumped to his client's defense, joking he would have "sleepless nights" to find the Frenchman a new club.

"Some people need to talk for fear of being forgotten. Paul Scholes wouldn't recognise a leader if he was in front of Sir Winston Churchill," he tweeted.

"Paul Scholes should become sports director and advise [club vice-chairman Ed] Woodward to sell Pogba. Would be sleepless nights to find Pogba a new club."

Pogba was linked with a move to Barcelona throughout the summer and his agent's latest outburst will do little to quash rumors he might leave Old Trafford in the near future, particularly as United's season already appears in danger of collapsing after just two games.

Jose Mourinho cut a forlorn figure on the sideline as his side stumbled to an embarrassing defeat against Brighton. He could be on collision course with Woodward yet again.

According to the Daily Star, the latter is adamant United should hold onto Anthony Martial this season but Mourinho has reportedly made clear he wants the Frenchman to leave before the European transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

The relationship between Martial and Mourinho appears to have broken beyond repair and the Frenchman failed to impress when he was granted a rare start on Sunday.

A player who is unlikely to leave the Premier League anytime soon is Eden Hazard who, despite being courted by Real Madrid and Barcelona, appears set to sign a new deal with Chelsea.

Over the weekend, the Belgian confirmed he intended to stay at Stamford Bridge and the Daily Mail claims he will be offered a $385,000-a-week contract to dissuade any potential suitors from bidding for him.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have urged Ruben Loftus-Cheek to remain at the club and fight for a starting spot. The England international impressed on loan at Crystal Palace last season but he's so far been overlooked by Maurizio Sarri and was reportedly considering going out on a temporary basis again.

However, according to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea have made clear to the 22-year-old they want him to stay at the club and force his way into Sarri's plans.

Elsewhere, the Daily Mail reports Luka Modric has blasted rumors suggesting he had contacted Inter Milan in a bid to engineer a move to Italy. Last week, Real Madrid reported the Serie A club to FIFA over an illegal approach for the Croatia star, before Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claimed the Real Madrid midfielder had told world soccer's governing body it was he who started talks.

A popular Instragram page reported the rumors but Modric has since described the suggestion as the "greatest nonsense in history."

Meanwhile, Spanish outlet Sport reports Paris Saint-Germain are targeting Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets as they look to bolster their midfield options. The French champions had been linked with Pogba and N'Golo Kante this summer, but have reportedly turned their sight towards the Barcelona duo.

Unsurprisingly, the Catalans are unwilling to let either go.
