Paula Patton's 'Unseasoned' Fried Chicken Recipe Video Horrifies Fans
Paula Patton's cooking expertise is being questioned after she was widely panned for her fried chicken recipe.
In March, actress Patton uploaded a five-minute video tutorial on how to make fried chicken, but the video has since resurfaced after a TikTok user pointed out all of the mistakes she was making.
Patton, ex-wife of Robin Thicke, is best known for her roles in movies like Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, 2 Guns and Warcraft, and if the internet had its way, she'd stick to her day job.
Why Paula Patton's chicken is trending
Although she posted the video a month ago, the chicken recipe resurfaced after Olympic athlete Ashley Spencer commented on the video on her TikTok account.
Her commentary on the video gained over 700,000 views on TikTok and over 3.6 million when shared on Twitter.

Spencer first took issue with Patton's technique when she cleaned the chicken with "just cold water" but her biggest issue came when Patton put the chicken in flour before seasoning it. "Where's the seasoning?" Spencer repeatedly asked in the video, "You've got dirty flour and unseasoned chicken." Spencer was horrified to see when Patton did add her flavor.
Patton started frying the chicken in grease, which is when she started seasoning the chicken, much to Spencer, and the internet's, horror. "You're seasoning grease," Spencer exclaimed.
What the internet thinks of Paula Patton's chicken
It's taken a while but the internet is finally reacting to Patton's homemade fried chicken recipe, and it's safe to say people are unimpressed.
Historian and journalist Dart Adams said, "Stop the world, I wanna get off," after seeing Patton seasoning grease. Internet personalities and Newsmax hosts Diamond and Silk volunteered to show Patton how to season and fry chicken, while singer Dionne Warwick's niece Brittani wrote, "damn, you leave Twitter for a few hours and come back to Paula Patton seasoning her chicken grease. life moves fast."

The mocking didn't stop there, as thousands of Twitter users weighed in on her technique. Author David Dennis Jr. also mocked Patton, but did stick up for her in one aspect of her method. "While the Paula Patton video is a tragedy, I want to go on record and say I don't believe in washing the chicken sorry not sorry." He continued, "The heat kills the germs! And washing it just spreads the salmonella around the sink!"

Indian author Shiv Ramdas conceded that Patton seems like a "really nice person" but he's learned one important thing about her — "under no circumstances should you accept wings" from her.
Her recipe was widely panned online with countless Twitter users using memes to express their reactions to Patton's video. Here's a collection of some of the best.
Newsweek has reached out to Patton for comment.
