Pennsylvania Bakery Cookie Poll That Correctly Predicted Last 3 Elections Has Trump As 2020 Winner

A poll done by a bakery in Pennsylvania has predicted that Donald Trump will claim victory in the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

The family-owned bakery, Lochel's, located in the town of Hatboro, sold Trump and Joe Biden-themed cookies and found that the Trump-themed ones outsold baked effigies of the Democratic candidate by a margin of nearly 6 to 1.

The outlet also reports that customers from nearby states drove to the bakery to buy the cookies. "We had one guy drive twice from Staten Island for them," said bakery owner Kathleen Lochel to Fox News.

According to the bakery, the poll has correctly predicted the last three outcomes of the presidential elections, including the 2016 election when Trump won. "We plan on tallying them up [tonight], to do our final tally," she tells Fox News. She confirmed that Trump had the lead over Biden, selling 28,000 Trump cookies to 5,000 for Biden.

"By the end of today's sales, knowing the orders we have, [Trump cookie sales] should probably approach 29,000," she explained. The final tally will take place on election night.

Lochel's Bakery is a third-generation, family-owned business. Founded over 70 years ago in Philadelphia, it moved to Hatboro in November 1995 following a fire at the original premises. It sells a range of pastries and cakes and also creates occasion desserts such as wedding cakes.

This isn't the only bakery to predict a Trump win. Another cookie poll was conducted by an Ohio store—Busken Bakery—that also saw Trump's popularity soar over Biden's.

Located in Cincinnati, the bakery sold packs of cookies featuring caricatures of Biden and Trump. The bakery has correctly predicted the outcome of the last nine elections.

As of October 30, the number of Trump cookie sales was 18,025, compared to Biden's 13,066. Some shoppers have remained impartial with 8,408 packs representing the "Cookie Party" being sold.

Back in Pennsylvania, Lochel's bakery will create a "celebratory" cookie when the winner of the U.S. election is announced. The owner also told Fox News that this has been the busiest time the bakery has seen, including the run-up to Christmas.

While their patrons have chosen Trump as the winner, the race for the U.S. Presidency is still underway. To find out more information about your nearest polling place, visit Vote.org.
