Barbara Weber could get a second shot at reality TV fame after becoming one of The Bachelor's biggest villains yet. The mother of Peter Weber could be in talks for Dancing With The Stars, according to ABC's reality chief Rob Mills.
The ABC exec indicated he would be happy to chat with Barbara about joining the reality series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "I've also seen a lot of people asking if she'd be on Dancing With the Stars," said Mills. "If Barb is interested in something, we'd always sit down with her. And she's local!"
Barbara has a history with The Bachelor franchise. Viewers were first introduced to her when she appeared on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette. It wasn't until Tuesday night, though, that Bachelor Nation seemed to think they finally knew Barbara's true character.
Peter's season of The Bachelor showed many sides of his mom. First she met Madison Prewett at her vow renewal, and seemed to warm up to Peter's first date well. Later, though, she vocally favored Hannah Ann Sluss as the only woman that should win Peter's heart. He and Sluss were engaged, but later broke up. Prewett entered the picture again but with no support or care from Barbara.
Barbara was adamant that Prewett is the wrong choice for her son on The Bachelor's live finale. She claimed Prewett didn't give her heart to Peter, and even stated that the couple would never work out. There was no glimmer of hope that the family could learn to love Prewett, only confirmation that even after the breakup, Sluss was the favorite.
Fans were shocked at Barbara's outspoken honesty and called her one of the biggest Bachelor villains. She was compared to Luke Parker and Victoria l, among other Bachelor legends, all who gained their standings from rude and sometimes cruel behavior.
It could be that formula that makes a television great, though. The Bachelor franchise has revived a handful of past contestants for future roles. Hannah Brown, the former Bachelorette, was seen on Dancing With The Stars in 2019. Wells Adams went from being a Bachelorette contestant to the beloved bartender on Bachelor In Paradise. Others, particularly drama-starting contestants, have attended Paradise in hopes to find love.
Where Barbara could fit into the channel's programming is currently unknown. Meanwhile, ABC's Mills also hinted that The Bachelor is ready to film a follow-up on Madison and Peter's relationship whenever they're ready. The pair were not contractually obligated to do any press events after The Bachelor, as ABC apparently felt it was too soon given their new relationship.
