A video of a pilot who faced an "embarrassing" moment at an airport has gone viral on TikTok.

In the clip, shared by user Awestin the Pilot, an overlaid message says, "Today I learned that those cupcake machines at airports BLAST music when you order."

The footage shows the payment screen on a cupcake vending machine. With the screen indicating that the "payment was successful," a song with the lyrics "I love sprinkles. Yes, it's true. Yes, it's true" is heard playing.

A cupcake inside a packaged box is seen inside the machine, moving toward the dispensing slot. A voice in the clip is heard saying, "This is so embarrassing," as a hand grabs the cupcake out of the dispenser.

The caption on the TikTok post—which has received 3.4 million views since it was first shared on March 4—says, "Everyone looked at me."

Newsweek has contacted the original poster for comment via TikTok. This video has not been independently verified.

The vending machine in the latest viral clip appears to be a "cupcake ATM" from Sprinkles, a cupcake company that offers the machines at various airports in the U.S., its website said.

The vending machine market, which was valued at $51.91 billion in 2021, was projected to see a compound annual growth rate of 10.7 percent from 2022 to 2030, reaching $129.40 billion by 2030, reported Grand View Research, a market research and consulting company headquartered in San Francisco.

The key factors driving the market growth were found to be the growing demand for on-the-go snacks and drinks due to consumers' hectic lifestyles and the machines' ability to deliver the products quickly, making them "extremely convenient" options, the report said.

North America dominated the global retail vending machine market, accounting for 31 percent of the market share in 2021, due to "changing lifestyles and high demand for Ready-to-Eat (RTE) products," according to the report.

With vending machines offering not only food but also items such as cigarettes and lottery tickets, "operators can generate significant revenue through these devices by strategically placing them in corporate buildings, schools, malls, train stations, and airports, among others," the report said.
