Some PlayStation users found that they were having issues with the network on Tuesday afternoon. Users were seeing a network issue when they tried to log in to PlayStation and many of them were reporting the issues to Down Detector.
There the reports were mainly about sign-in, game play and the PlayStation store. Hundreds of reports rolled in Tuesday afternoon and the problems seemed to be continuing through the afternoon. The map that showed where the reports were coming from showed that many of the issues were happening in Europe as well as the United States.
The PlayStation service status website said that "some services are experiencing issues," Tuesday afternoon. Those services included account management, PlayStation Video, gaming and social and more.
Some users were tweeting images of the error codes they were getting when they tried to use their PlayStation. Some messages said, "An error occurred during communication with the server," while others just said, "An error has occurred."
Some users got longer error messages that started with, "Cannot use the content. Cannot connect to the server to verify the license."
Paying customers were frustrated that the service they paid for wasn't working and was down for maintenance. Some were more frustrated that there had been planned maintenance for the night prior and then the services were down again just hours later.
The AskPlayStation account tweeted after the issues persisted for more than an hour Tuesday. The account said that the company was aware of the issues users were having and that it was looking into the problems and a possible fix.
We're aware that some users are experiencing issues logging into PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate: https://t.co/AHRZfHtRvq
