'Pokémon Go' Autumn Event: Start Time, Field Research, Shiny Vulpix and More

Trainers in Pokémon Go are still playing through last week's Fashion Week event, but as the season changes to the fall, another event is about to begin.

The Autumn event in Pokémon Go will bring changes to the popular mobile game, debuting a new Shiny Pokémon as well as a Pokémon from the Unova region that has yet to appear.

The Normal and Grass-type Pokémon will be appearing in the wild, along with other Pokémon like Oddish, Vulpix, Bayleef, Hoothoot, Sudowoodo, Yanma, Pineco, Zigzagoon, Seedot, Shroomish, Plant Cloak Burmy and Foongus.

Deerling and its evolution Sawsbuck represented the seasons when that feature was introduced in Pokémon Black and White. There are four forms of Deerling that can be caught, but for this event only the autumn form will be available.

EGG CHANGES

Starting Friday, the Egg Pool for Pokémon Go will be changed. Autumn-themed Pokémon will be hatching from 5km Eggs during the weekend event. What exact Pokémon will hatch is unknown at this time, but we'll update this section when the event goes live.

Also, starting Monday, October 12, at 4 p.m. there will be a few different Pokémon hatching from Eggs. Look forward to that and be sure to take advantage of it before this update to the Egg Pool ends on Tuesday, October 20, at 1 a.m. EDT.

IN-GAME BONUSES

During the Autumn event, Berries will be twice as effective when you give them as treats to your Buddy Pokémon. You'll also earn twice the usual candy you would when catching a Pokémon with a Pinap Berry.

Berries will be dropping more often when you spin Photo Discs at PokeStops and Gyms.
