The Pokémon Go Bug Out event will begin Friday, June 26, at 8 a.m. local time and end Wednesday, July 1, at 10 p.m. local time.

The Bug Out event's exclusive field research tasks won't be revealed until it has gone live in other parts of the world, but Niantic confirmed on its blog that Scyther, Venipede and Dwebble will be rewarded for completing certain missions.

The Bug Out Event has begun to roll out around the world. Here's the exclusive Field Research:

  • Catch 7 Bug Pokémon - Stardust (x1000)
  • Catch 15 Bug Pokémon - Burmy
  • Hatch an Egg - Scyther
  • Make 5 Curveball Throws - Pineco
  • Trade a Pokémon - Shelment or Karrablast
  • Use 3 Berries to catch a Pokémon - Dwebble

Dwebble, the Bug and Rock-type Pokémon, will have its Shiny form debut in Pokémon Go with the Bug Out event.

Trainers will have a higher chance of finding this Shiny during the five-day event. Dwebble will appear more frequently in the wild, and will be a reward encounter for completing one of the exclusive field research tasks. Dwebble will also appear in Raids during the event.

Shiny Dwebble changes the Pokémon's orange-colored body to green, so it's easy to spot when finding out.

UPDATE: Niantic has confirmed that the Pinsir Raid Day has been cancelled. No make up date has been announced

On Sunday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time, three-star Raids will feature the Bug-type Pokémon Pinsir.

This powerful Bug-type can be accessed via Remote Raid Passes if you want to battle it from the comfort of your own home. There will be a special bundle for one PokeCoin in the in-game shop that will give trainers three Remote Raid Passes to get you started.

During the event, trainers will receive double the experience points for catching Pokémon.

Incense will also attract more Bug-type Pokémon, with certain species appearing more frequently on certain days and times. Here's the schedule for the special Bug-type Pokémon appearing with Incense:

  • From Friday, June 26, at 8 a.m. to Saturday, June 27, at 11:59 p.m. local time, Nincada will be attracted more often to Incense.
