'Pokémon Go' Charmander Community Day Event Leaked

The next Pokémon Go Community Day has seemingly leaked on the game's official Japanese website, mere days after the Mareep Community Day event completed.

According to the official Pokémon Go Japanese site, which the listing has since been taken down, Charmander will be the spotlight Pokémon, coming to the popular mobile game on May 19.

UPDATE: Niantic has confirmed the Charmander Community Day event on May 19.

The only other information about the upcoming Community Day is that a Charmander evolved into Charizard will learn an exclusive move. Since the Bulbasaur Community Day event had Venusaur learn Frenzy Plant, it seems likely Charizard will learn Blast Burn, the Fire-type equivalent.

Japan's Pokémon Go site didn't reveal any other perks of the upcoming event, but if past Community Days are any indicator, players can expect Shiny Charmander to appear. Shiny Charmander and its evolved form, Charmeleon, have a more yellow hue to them. Charizard, however, becomes completely black and is one of the coolest-looking shinies.

We have reached out to The Pokémon Company for more information on the upcoming Community Day and will update with more information if provided.

Past Community Day events put a spotlight on Pikachu, Dratini, Bulbasaur and Mareep. All of these events included the Pokémon's Shinies in the game, along with exclusive moves. Pikachu learned Suf, Dratini learned Draco Meteor, Bulbasaur Frenzy Plant and Mareep Dragon Pulse.
