'Pokémon Go' Community Day: Shiny Bulbasaur, Start Time and Everything You Need to Know

The next Community Day for Pokémon Go is almost here! The upcoming Pokémon Go event will offer trainers an abundance of Bulbasaur to catch.

Bulbasaur may be one of the first Pokémon trainers caught when the game first came out, but these Grass types come with a special twist: a new move not introduced in the game previously. Like the Pikachu that learned Surf in a past Pokémon Go Community Day, these Bulbasaur will learn Frenzy Plant upon evolving into Venusaur.

There's a lot more to this new Community Day in Pokémon Go, so let's get into all the information trainers need for the special event.

The Bulbasaur Community Day event in Pokémon Go will start Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m. EDT and ends at 5 p.m. EDT.

While Niantic has not confirmed Shiny Bulbasaur will be included in the upcoming Community Day event, The Silph Road subreddit has found data and images showing Shiny Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and Venusaur will be available during Community Day.

The difference between normal and Shiny Bulbasaur is pretty miniscule. The change is mostly in the color of green in the Shiny form. Shiny Bulbasaur has a more lime green tint to it.

Pokémon Go players will want a Bulbasaur to get the unique move Frenzy Plant. This Grass-type attack is very powerful in the traditional Pokémon games and it's no different in Pokémon Go. Frenzy Plant will be 100 base power and a two-bar attack. Expect to see a lot of Venusaur taking down bulky Water types.

To obtain Frenzy Plant, you'll need to evolve any Bulbasaur (not just the ones caught during the event) all the way to Venusaur during the time of the Community Day.

During Community Day, Pokémon Go trainers will have even more bonuses including three-hour lures, and three times the experience earned for catching any Pokémon.
