'Pokémon Go' Equinox Event Brings Shiny Lunatone, Solrock and Raid Boss Update

The Pokémon Go Equinox Event has begun and Grass-type Pokémon are running rampant in the wild, in research tasks and on Raids.

Niantic gave some information in the days leading up to the Equinox Event, but it wasn't until the event went live that new aspects of the latest Pokémon Go update were discovered. The Pokémon that received their Shiny Forms were different than what fans expected, and some Raid Bosses changes were a surprise in the update too.

Niantic promoted Oddish on the official Equinox Event image so many assumed the Grass and Poison-type from the Kanto region would finally get its Shiny, but that's not the case.

Here's all the new information from the Pokémon Go Equinox Event including the new Raid Bosses.

SHINY LUNATONE AND SOLROCK

In a surprise move, Niantic unlocked the Shiny forms of Lunatone and Solrock. Pokémon Go players knew that the Rock and Psychic-type Pokémon would shift habitats when the event started but they didn't expect this.

Lunatone and Solrock have their Shiny Forms unlocked and trainers have a chance to catch one of them. Solrock is now available in the Americas and Africa while Lunatone now shifts to Europe, Asia and Australia.

Solrock's Shiny Form changes it from orange and yellow to more red. Lunatone's Shiny Form doesn't change that much, with the biggest difference coming from its eyes. Its 's eyes turn from pink to blue.

As with other Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Go, you'll need to interact with them in the wild to see if they are indeed Shiny.

CURRENT POKEMON GO RAID BOSSES

The official notice from Niantic confirmed that Raid Bosses would switch to Grass types and they weren't wrong.

Early reports state that Grass types from previous Generations are popping up in Raids. Some highly sought after Grass types like Roselia (Tier 2) and Tangela (Tier 3) are reportedly appearing in Raids. Other Raid staples, like Absol, are apparently staying in Tier 4 Raids while Dialga stays in Tier 5.

The Pokémon Go Equinox Event will end on Tuesday, March 26 at 4 p.m. EDT so if you want a chance at any of these Raid Bosses, be sure to take them on before then.
