'Pokémon Go' Lake Legends Event: Start Time, Shiny Goldeen, Research and More

The final event in Pokémon Go before the Season of Celebration begins will spotlight the Legendary Lake trio of the Sinnoh region: Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf.

These three Psychic-type Pokémon will appear in Raids for a limited time, but their arrival will also bring new Shiny Pokémon to catch and a ton of in-game bonuses for Pokémon Go trainers to enjoy.

The Pokémon Go Lake Legends event starts Tuesday, November 24, at 8 a.m. local time and ends Monday, November 30, at 10 p.m. local time.

There are four new field research tasks that Pokémon Go trainers can get after spinning Poké Stops during the event. The rewards for completing these tasks are the Sinnoh region Starter Pokémon and other Pokémon highlighted for this event.

Here's the rundown of the Lake Legends event research tasks:

  • Catch 5 Water-type Pokémon - Goldeen
  • Send 3 Gifts to friends - Starly
  • Use 5 Berries to catch Pokémon - Turtwig/Chimchar/Piplup
  • Win a raid - Bronzor

Goldeen and its evolution Seaking will finally get their Shiny variants introduced in Pokémon Go with the Lake Legends event. These Kanto-region Water types will appear more often in the wild, as well as hatching from 5km Eggs.

Goldeen will also appear in Raids during the event, and will also be the reward for one of the aforementioned field research tasks. That gives trainers a number of ways to find this Shiny Pokémon.

While the arrival of Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf are the highlights of the latest Raid update in Pokémon Go, there are a number of other Pokémon that trainers will want to try and catch.

All three Lake Legendary Pokémon are region exclusive, however, so you won't be able to find two of them on your own. But you can join the Raid if you're invited to one from a friend in another region.

Here's a rundown of the latest Raids in Pokémon Go:

Level 1

  • Turtwig
  • Chimchar
  • Piplup

Level 3

  • Whiscash
  • Floatzel
  • Lumineon

Level 5

  • Azelf (Americas)
  • Uxie (Asia-Pacific)
  • Mesprit (Europe and Africa)

Mega Raids

  • Mega Charizard X/Y
  • Mega Blastoise
  • Mega Houndoom
  • Mega Gengar
  • Megan Pidgeot

As for other in-game bonuses, trainers will see Pokémon commonly found near lakes appear more often in the wild. These Pokémon include: Psyduck, Goldeen, Magikarp, Surskit, Starly, Bidoof and Shellos.

Other Pokémon like Abra, Machop and Ralts will appear to trainers who use Incense during the event.

Also, AR Mapping tasks will offer new rewards.
